Now that I got your attention with a weird headline, can you guess what these are? I felt like I walked in on some twisted version of a scene from Alien with a bunch of eggs. These are actually bioreactors for Ginseng growth. The whole process was explained mixed in with a hard sell trying to get tourists to empty their wallets to buy ginseng to help stimulate the Korean economy. Ginseng is really popular in Korea, especially for older people, and it's rather expensive in general. This was my least favorite part of my tour in Jeju. Nowadays I always make sure any tour I take has absolutely no stops at malls/stores/markets as I would rather pay a fair price for a tour and not deal with wasting time shopping for stuff I don't need.
