Driving to Ais-Ais, which is near Fish River Canyon, was one of the least traveled roads throughout my trip. I think at one point I drove about 50-60 miles without ever coming across another car. And, the thing is, when you do see another car, it's traveling in the opposite direction. More often, it would be every 20-30mins when I would see another car. Still, pretty desolate.
All that driving might not be for everyone, but when there's no traffic, the drive is a bit more enjoyable. Still, most of the drive is not on paved roads, so the pace will be much slower, but still enjoyable given the scenery. Every now and then you might see some random abandoned car, but I felt this truck had a lot of character and felt obligated to photograph it.
