I love the way the hidden sun lights up the ice. My guide, also a photographer, told me he likes to come here at night with a couple of strobes to illuminate the ice and shoot the northern lights. I imagine it's quite the setting.
The ground is largely just pure ice in this area, and walking around went surprisingly well. While there are some parts that are a bit slippery, for the most part it wasn't nearly as bad as you would think. Granted, it was still below zero, but at least it wasn't too slippery!
An icy scene outside of Kangerlussuaq.
