Always Looking

Always Looking

The eyes in the images of Buddha always seem to be watching you. Or perhaps, trying to look into your soul. It's interesting visiting so many Buddhist temples, and seeing the similarities and differences - across the branches of Buddhism and countries.

The Buddha always has mighty big ears, the significance of which, is unbeknownst to me. There is also quite a great deal of ornamentation and decoration either on or around the images of Buddha. Fair enough to say this is to be expected in any sort of place of worship, regardless of what or who the people are worshipping.

Taking a trip to Burma is very much taking a trip into the stronghold of Buddhism. Where Buddhist life and its influences are inescapable. If you visit, you too, will likely end up temple hopping as there are a seemingly inexhaustible number of temples to visit, historic or modern.
