Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You

Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You

And...I'm back! After a month-long hiatus, it's good to be back posting photos again! I spent nearly the entire month of January traversing Argentina and Antarctica, with a few other spots thrown in for good measure. I'll write more in the coming weeks ahead, but I'm still trying to catch up and go through everything I captured. Suffice it to say, the trip was nothing short of extraordinary.

Today's Photo

With a glimmer in the eye, I caught this Southern Elephant Seal looking at me on the last excursion of my trip to Antarctica. Unlike the Frankie Valli song though, I don't think it would be so heavenly to touch this seal.

A bit of trivia for you on this particular type of seal - the males are typically five to six times heavier than the females. Make no mistake, these guys can get pretty big, even dwarfing polar and kodiak bears in weight.
